Our Role in the Community

Kids Health First’s role does not begin and end at the physicians’ practices. Our responsibility to advance pediatric medicine requires collaboration, affiliation, collegiality and interface with multiple entities in the medical community. For that reason, Kids Health First reaches out on a regular basis to its pediatric healthcare partners. These efforts not only help promote the importance of the medical home, but also ensure that medical care provided to the children in Georgia and throughout the state remains a top priority in the minds of physicians, parents, lawmakers and other individuals invested in the future of Atlanta and Georgia.

Our role in the community would not be possible without the ongoing interface with organizations such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia Pediatric Subspecialists, the Emory-Children’s Center, WellStar, The Children’s Health Network (TCHN), Sibley Heart Center Cardiology, the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Georgia Pediatric Care Network (GPCN).

Kids Health First has also joined the Pediatric Health Improvement Coalition (PHIC), which is a statewide network of pediatric healthcare providers whose primary objective is to improve health outcomes for children and to ensure the future of pediatric specialty care in Georgia. Other members of this coalition include the five children’s hospitals throughout the state, the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and other physician organizations. This effort and Kids Health First’s participation clearly defines our organization as a leading voice in the transformation of pediatric care in Georgia.
